Milestone 1 of 4 · Design direction

The new Line Monkey MD, ready for your review.

This is the final design direction, built on the concept you liked. Everything here uses your real archive: all 77 essays, sorted into topics, with a real essay set in the new reading page. Have a look on your phone as well as your computer.

What to look at

Four pages, about ten minutes

What’s new since the concept

Decisions made in this milestone

A type system for reading

Literata for essays and headlines, a condensed label face for topics and buttons, and a mono face only for plate annotations.

Five real topics

61 essays were “Uncategorized.” All 77 are now filed under five topics, color-coded with the 4 to 8 Fr sheath hub colors.

Plates that read like images

Angiogram, fluoro chart and field map families, with real annotations: essay number, date, view and French size.

The reading room

A dark theme for night reading. In the dark, plates turn into negatives. The button is at the top of every page.

Your work, credited quietly

Your BackTable episodes, a short timeline and links to IGS Missouri, Physician Staffing Solutions and Travelier, without turning the site into a brochure.

Nothing breaks

Every essay keeps its address, comments stay on, and the Mailjet list carries over. Old tag links will redirect.

Questions for you

Short answers are perfect

  • Does the overall look feel like Line Monkey MD?
  • Are the five topics right? Rename any of them, or tell me which essays to move.
  • Start Here: are these the four essays you would hand a colleague first?
  • Do the plates feel like yours? Any family you would change?
  • Does the reading page feel comfortable on your phone?
  • The topic colors follow the 4 to 8 Fr sheath color code. Does that match the sheaths you use?

Card summaries are your opening lines for now. In WordPress you can write a one-line summary for any essay, and it will show instead.
